Beechworth A3 are just one win away from their fifth consecutive finals run in the Ovens & Murray Bowls Pennant Season after their 96-80 shot win over Wangaratta on Saturday.

Beechworth won three of the four rinks with the team of I. Soulsby [S], R. Bayliss, P. Keogh and S. Gardner been the best team with their 32-17 shot win over P. Selwood team. The team of W. Page [S], K. Waring, T. Chambeyron and S. Cameron had a 24-20 shot win and the team of B. Fitzpatrick [S], A. Barbero, B. Walch and B. Gazzola had a 22-18 shot win over H. Baker team. The team of T. Stockdale [S], R. Robinson, R. Howard and S. Kelly had a 18-25 shot loss to G. Fox team. The result puts Beechworth 26 points ahead of fifth place Swanpool with a win against either Yarrawonga/Mulwala GCR this week or Swanpool in the final round will book them into the elimination final.

Beechworth B3 team have had a 49-86 shot loss to Bright on Saturday. Beechworth were unable to win a rink with the team of G. Lockwood [S], G. Bailey, J. Chambeyron and G. Sinclair been the best team with their 20-28 shot loss to R. Zonta team. The team of I. Sekulic [S], R. Holmes, P. Henderson and M. Gardner had a 16-27 shot loss to D. Sellick team and the team of T. Bright [S], G. Crutchett, R. Saunders and B. Pope had a 13-31 shot loss to O. Kupfere team. Same as the A3 team, the B3 must beat either Ovens this week or Corowa Civic in the final round to book a place in the elimination final.

Beechworth Mid-Week team have had a close 74-70 shot win over Wangaratta last week. That result has booked them into the finals as this week round against Ovens has been cancelled due to extreme heat that has been forecasted for Tuesday.
